It's kind of unsettling to turn on the TV and see the local news warning you of a Tsunami and to take to higher ground! Fortunately we were high up on a cliff but when we went into town, we could see some damage that had been caused by the surge coming into the harbor. It's a very eerie feeling to look out at that vast ocean and think that a wall of water could be coming toward you. Those poor Japanese people.
We ate (a lot!) and hot tubbed and walked the beach (with an eye to the waves, for sure!) and just generally relaxed. Even through the rain, we ended up having a blast!
